Sam Shamamur is a part of the WNSL and Nashville Community that goes beyond just coaching. He gives and gives each season with the administration of baseball teams, coaching baseball and basketball teams, refereeing football, umpiring baseball, and always helping others at the Park or wherever there is a sporting event. He and his family are always supporting the community through tireless work - even his two daughters work relentlessly in the Concession Stands each Spring and Fall.
Sam is in bad shape at Vanderbilt Hospital with myelofibrosis, a blood disorder, and is undergoing treatment with great losses of blood. The treatments are brutal but there are treatments available that will make him a survivor.
The timing could not have been worse- he just changed jobs and does not have health care insurance yet with his new employment. His wife, Amberlee, is an independent contractor and does not have health care insurance either.
Sam is a fighter and we need to help him with his fight against this blood disorder.
We need to prop his family up and help relieve some of the stress they are going through.
Relief by providing some financial assistance will go a long way.
There is a Go Fund Me set up to support the Shamanur family. The WNSL will match all gifts up to a $5000 total given by the WNSL community.
Any amount will be appreciated and we will help Sam Shamamur pull through this tough time for him and his family.
Thank you for taking the time to help one of our very best guys and his family.
Thank you,
Scott Tygard
WNSL Executive Director
