Currently Hiring for Referees for the Winter Basketball and Spring Baseball Season

WNSL will employ a number of game officials as shown below.Training will be provided by WNSL.

Winter Basketball—Referees and clock operators will be needed for youth basketball games in January and February.  Officials can be either adults or youth (at least 9th grade to be an on-the-court referee and at least 7th grade to be a clock operator). Officials with prior experience will receive minimal training to insure that you qualify. New officials will be trained (starting in early November). All training is free and will be conducted by current and former high school referees with years of experience. Please email Roger at [email protected] or Doug at [email protected] in order to be notified concerning training. Pay is $10 per game for clock operators and ranges from $15 (beginning youth officials) to $25 per game (registered high school officials). Games last slightly less than one hour and officials normally work 3-5 games each Saturday during the season.

Spring Baseball—Umpires will be needed for WNSL games, beginning late March and continuing through at least May. Youth umpires (at least 8th grade) will be able to umpire Machine Pitch games for 7 and 8 year-olds and adults can work all ages. More openings than normal are expected for next season due to several of the regular umpires being transferred out of town for their work. Pay varies by age group, but is competitive with other youth leagues. If you are interested, please email Roger at [email protected] or Doug at [email protected]. There will be a combination of 1-2 training sessions, followed by some on-the-job training (where new umpire is placed with a veteran umpire).
